James N. Nelson III, CFA, CAIA
With more than 20 years of leadership experience in the global investment management sector, James has a demonstrated track record of creating and rolling out successful new products, revitalizing underperforming portfolios and organizations, outperforming benchmarks as well as internal targets, and promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion.
In addition to his career-long pursuit of seeking opportunities to drive the success for his teams, employers, and clients, James is passionate about improving financial literacy. In the community, James provides one-on-one advising, leads investment & financial workshops, and delivers keynote addresses to civic clubs, middle and high schools, and congregations. James currently serves as the President of the Atlanta Chapter of the National Association of Securities Professionals, an investment committee member at Piedmont Healthcare, and a member of the advisory council at the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Professionally, as the Head of Product Management and Pricing in North America at Invesco, an investment management firm with over $1 Trillion in assets under management, James is responsible for collaborating with investment, distribution and other organizational stakeholders to develop and enhance product and solutions capabilities that support the firms continued focus on building a market-leading institutional and retail business. At Invesco, James also serves as a founding member and Co-Chair of Invesco’s Black Professional Network and has facilitated the election of the 1st black individual to the company’s Board of Directors.
Mr. Nelson earned a BA degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in strategic management from the Wharton School. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA)
